Puget Sound Strategic Ministries, including Puget Sound Camp, is dedicated to the teaching and training of children and youth. This teaching focuses on core values that enable them to make choices resulting in a positive impact on their life, as well as upon our communities and country. Our hope and prayer is that all children and youth will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. PSSM was instituted by individuals who have answered God’s call to continue a camp ministry which has remained nearly unchanged over the past 40 plus years. Our intent is to provide a camp environment (including biblically based teaching, personnel and program format) that has ministered to hundreds of youth, providing a life changing experience as each individual learns more about their relationship with their Lord and Savior.
Puget Sound Camp is unique in that it is exclusively for AWANA youth and is staffed by AWANA leaders. Volunteers for the Puget Sound Camp are chosen carefully. They are screened by the Camp Director, the Camp Advisor, and PSSM. Many are former campers. Some are pastors and AWANA missionaries. All staff and volunteers submit to background checks through the insurance carrier and the State Patrol. In addition, a recommendation for the responsible individual is required from the church where he/she regularly attends and/or serves in an AWANA ministry. All (staff and) volunteers for this camp ministry also complete mandatory training and testing prior to serving. Our goal is that each volunteer will have a positive spiritual impact on youth attending camp. Should you have any concerns regarding anything about camp, you are encouraged to contact us.
We invite you to discuss this camp with your son or daughter. Invite them to talk to you about their camp expectations, experiences, and/or concerns. Our camp youth are encouraged to talk with a camp counselor or the camp director should there be anything he or she is not comfortable with at camp. We desire camp to be a positive experience for all youth; a time of spiritual growth and a time they look back on with fond memories!
